Newest Folk Club

Here's a folk club with a difference. Folk on the Fosse meets in the splendid Eathorpe Park Hotel, a country house venue nestling in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, famous also for its jazz nights and murder mystery weekends.

Since the club opened in August 1998, it has built up an excellent reputation as a venue for artists and audience alike, featuring first-class folk music in the fine surroundings of the conference room with waiter service for drinks and hot suppers - which are superb value at £2.35.

We've already had some brilliant nights from guests the calibre of Meet On The Ledge, Kevin Dempsey and Tom Leary, Derek Brimstone, The Band of Rack and Ruin, Sean and James Cannon and Vikki Clayton. Now in the hands of a new organising team - Stevie Horton, Jenny Stevens and compere Pete Willow - Folk on the Fosse will be announcing many more evenings of great entertainment. Admission for our regular nights is only £3 (£2 children) and club regulars, people on our mailing list and visitors to this website will also benefit from special offers and discounts.

The club usually meets on the last Thursday of the month, starting at 8pm for an 8.15 start. Floor singers are welcome although it's always a good idea to phone in advance to book a spot.

The Armpit Jug Band
The legend is revived. For over 25 years the AJB combined their skills in jug music, jazz, blues and slapstick with hilarious results. Recently they've been exploring a more serious approach to 'da blues' under the name of Wang Dang Doodle and have built up a considerably wider repertoire as a result. But their madcap antics as the Armpit Jug Band were not to be sniffed at and we're delighted to present the full unexpurgated version complete with jug, musical teapot, elephant horn and plastic parrot.
